[Kaeya couldn't help but grin teasingly as he stepped into their bedroom with a cup of coffee. The air smelled of breakfast: eggs, bacon, and pancakes, to be precise. He limped his way over to their bed, holding the cup out for his amusingly groggy boyfriend who also sported wolf ears between the sleep-ruffled hair.
It wasn't actually that late in the morning. But Diluc clearly needed the extra sleep and Kaeya was loathe to wake him so he had carefully climbed out of bed (sporting fox ears and tail) and gingerly made his way to the living room to let Diluc sleep a little longer and get started on breakfast. He didn't have much appetite in the mornings but his lover certainly did and after the drama from the island, he decided to go the extra mile. Hence, the hearty breakfast the redhead would no doubt smell.]
[It's been happening more often lately. Waking up with a pair of wolf ears and a bushy tail, or even having them show up before he falls asleep at all. Thankfully it only happens with Kaeya, but Diluc would be lying if he said he wasn't concerned it might end up permanent at some point.
Though, he is finding he minds that thought less and less.
He's just sitting up when Kaeya walks back into the room, and is stretching his arms up over his head as he yawns and then rubs the back of his sleep-mussed hair.]
You should have let me make it... [He grumbles softly, but he takes the cup and gives the coffee a small sip.] I'll get up, you can sit while I finish everything.
[To be honest, Kaeya did have his own reservations about the changes possibly becoming permanent. But there was nothing for it and he didn't want to think too hard on it.
Kaeya clicked his tongue and shook his head.]
It's just about done, Diluc, don't worry about it. You deserve the extra sleep.
[He knew the reason the other man said as much, considering he was still healing. But he very much disliked sitting around all day and he wasn't able to do any of the usual stuff he did for now.]
[His ears flick back as he pushes a hand through his hair, then he reaches out for Kaeya's shoulder instead and pulls him in for a soft kiss, murmuring 'love you' against his lips.
He knows Kaeya is restless, but at least he can be assured that he won't push himself too much... The man knows his limits, and those limits do at least extend to walking around the house so he can make breakfast for them both.]
I can't think what I could have done to deserve pampering.
[Kaeya hummed into the kiss and pulled back with a shake of his head. He reached out to ruffle those ears of Diluc's.]
And why would you need to have done something to deserve this? Come, I have to get back to the stove.
[He had only just put the bacon on the skillet so if he didn't want them to burn he had to go back. Kaeya was careful to not actually hurry when he took his time to the kitchen but the limping sure did make it a little slow going. Thankfully, he made it in time to flip the pieces over before they got too crispy.]
If you insist on not being pampered though, you can set the table.
[His ears flicker under the ruffling and he grunts, pulling his head away slightly while he fights a smile.
Diluc trails after Kaeya to the kitchen, not reaching out to touch him but still there to offer a hand if it's needed, and he idly sips at his coffee while they walk together. Once at the stove, he sets his cup down and slips his arms around his boyfriend from behind, shuffling in close and closing his eyes as he rests his cheek against the back of Kaeya's shoulder.]

[So maybe he's been a little clingy since the tree... but could anyone really blame him?]
[Kaeya did always appreciate the support Diluc silently gave, even if it could sometimes border on hovering. But when there were times when he did overdo it and his knee buckled unexpectedly, having Diluc nearby was a great help (even if a bit embarrassing).
He stilled for a moment as Diluc wound his arms around him, pressing himself close like that. Once Diluc was secured, Kaeya continued flipping the bacon over. He chuckled lightly, resting a hand over the ones at his stomach.]
Don't fall asleep on me, I still have to feed you.
[He would always back off if Kaeya asked him to, but the man so rarely does that Diluc thinks he secretly enjoys the hovering.]
Hah... I don't think I can fall asleep standing, don't worry.
[One of his ears flickers several times, utterly outside of his control, as some of Kaeya's hair tickles against the side of it. He grunts softly and moves his head, then sighs.]
[He laughed and pulled the pan off the stove. He plopped each of the strips onto a folded paper towel to let it soak up the grease. He turned the stove back off and placed the pan on top.]
Sure, but you will definitely need to set the table then. I can't bend down that far. [His knee was still firmly in the locked straight position. It wouldn't be long now before they let him take the brace off so he start bending his knee and working on getting it strong again.] But I'll plate the food while you get the kotatsu started, hm?
[He can help Kaeya sit down and get back up, too. It would be worth it to have a cosy breakfast. Diluc peels himself away from Kaeya's back (after pressing another gentle kiss to the back of his shoulder) and gathers up the place settings and cutlery before slipping off to the living room.
Once there he turns on the kotatsu heater, and kneels down to set their places for breakfast.]
Can you carry everything, or shall I come back to help?
[He got the bacon and eggs on their respective plates, but the pancakes were quite the stack and they got their own plate so Diluc and pick as many as he wanted. Kaeya was likely going to have no more than two, to be honest.
But the drinks were going to need another set of hands as the teapot with green tea had its own tray.]

[He was placing some fruit as well as he answered. He scooted the teapot and cups over to the side of the tray and placed his plate on it before taking Diluc's and the stack of pancakes to hand over once the redhead came back to the kitchen.]

[He wastes no time. Diluc pushes himself up and rejoins Kaeya in the kitchen, and without even being asked he takes the majority of the things that need carrying through for their breakfast. No arguments - he won't have it.

[He will let him fuss but he will huff slightly at him, regardless. Still, he picked up what he was allowed to and made his way to the kotatsu. The brace would prevent any of the weakness from actually falling over and it helped with the pain a bit, but it was still a bit awkward.
He waited until Diluc had set his plates down before offloading his own to Diluc as well. Now was getting down on the floor which, by this point, he mastered with some efficiency. He waved off any attempts from Diluc with a 'I got it, I got it...'

[He gets up with a soft exhale and ruffles Kaeya's hair on his way past. The butter and syrup are easy enough to find, and he's back in short order and placing them down on the table before he sits again.

[He laughed at the hair ruffle, pouring them both some tea while Diluc had gotten the stuff. Diluc was adorable like this, especially that ear twitch. He wasn't sure why the question seemed to surprise him though.]

His true thoughts on the matter as a whole are known between them and if he truly hated it, he would be taking steps to avoid it happening. It's an indication of the strong connection between he and Kaeya, one that had strained over the past year but never once broken, and how can he really mind that?
He eyes the fork held out to him, then leans forwards and takes the offered bite. His eyes lock to Kaeya's as he places his hand against the other man's and slowly draws back, catching every drop of syrup on the fork before he sits up.]
