[Kaeya hooked his foot onto a barstool and dragged over just so he could promptly sit and then place his chin in his hands.
Fox tail and ears immediately popped into existence, although Kaeya had been more than prepared and arrived with the right pants. It swished behind him in amusement.]
Oh, I'm very proud of myself.
[He grinned wider, but careful not to make it too toothy.]
The place is coming along swell. Excited for the opening?
[Diluc's ears pin back in momentary annoyance then flick back up again, swiveling forwards in a likely amusing display of emotion. He looks around and sighs softly, then reaches out and ruffles his hand gently against the space between Kaeya's newly emerged fox ears.]
Mm. Definitely. Though I think we're going to need a few more hands in here. I don't plan to work myself to death running the place.
[He tried the overworking thing. It didn't pan out so well.]
I'm going to change. Can you finish polishing up these glasses?
[Kaeya looked momentarily surprised when Diluc ruffled between his ears. It felt very good and a pleased purr escaped him, his eye closing for a moment. He could get used to that. His ears flickered and swiveled with the motion, his earring swaying.]
I can attempt another announcement for job hires if you'd like. Most of the paperwork is squared away by now.
[He was sad no more pettings would be had but he nodded and leaned over the counter to take the unpolished glasses and the cloth Diluc had been using.]
I was thinking of doing it myself, but you can go ahead if you like. I'll just be a minute.
[If the tail is going to stick around then he needs something less high-waisted. As promised, he doesn't take long to change and when he comes back he quietly walks up behind Kaeya and gently pets him between the ears again.]
[Kaeya didn't really mind who made the announcement, if Diluc was already thinking about it then he could. He hummed quietly as he polished one of the glasses, not quite as quick as his lover but it wasn't like they were on that much of a time crunch before opening.
He started slightly when that warm, calloused hand found its way between his vulpine ears again. He nodded with another hum, it was not unlike when Diluc played with his hair and such. He leaned into the touch, his hands resting the glass and cloth on the counter.]
[It's a nice feedback loop of pleasant sensation, particularly given the strength of their bond with one another. Kaeya enjoys it, so Diluc does too, and it prompts him to want to do it more.
Now far more comfortable, his tail swishes back and forth as he rubs the edge of one thumb against the back of one of Kaeya's ears.]
This is going to be embarrassing if it starts happening in public.
[His large ears flickered to and fro with Diluc's hand and he let his feet swing lightly while seated on the barstool in delight. His own tail was swishing, the large puffy fur lightly batting at the other's thigh.]
Mm, it could. But only if you let it. Besides, is it --[He stopped when Diluc's thumb pressed against the back of his ear, rubbing at a very lovely spot. His head tilted further into the touch and he hummed, pleased. His eye closed halfway.]-- Mmm...is it really so bad?
It's embarrassing. [The word is repeated with far more emphasis than the first time, but he does keep gently rubbing that spot behind Kaeya's ear that made his voice falter like that.
Heh... cute.]
How can I expect anyone to take me seriously when I could just suddenly look like this in the middle of a conversation?
[Kaeya did lean more and more... And leaned nearly off the the stool. With a start, he laid an arm on the counter to stop the fall and then with a soft growl, batted at Diluc's hand. He huffed and crossed his arms, cheeks flushing in embarrassment.]
[But he relents, moving his hand away from Kaeya's head while he goes back to what he was doing before the man came in, this time with his tail idly swishing back and forth behind him.]
I think we have everything we need, now... Unless you've accounted for something I haven't?
[There was a half-hearted glare but nothing more as he propped his chin on his hands.]
Nothing that I can think of. I've checked the paperwork several times now and I don't see anything unusual or missing. If anything is, I suppose it'll become apparent when we open.
[Things like that were bound to happen, but he was pretty certain they were a bit overprepared at this point so there was no use worrying.]
I'd rather have all the kinks worked out before we have paying customers.
[Sigh. Kaeya. So laid back he could be on the ground. If it wasn't him saying that then Diluc would probably be far more concerned instead of just slightly exasperated.]

[Nervous and excited. He was confident things wouldn't go wrong, but the one thing he couldn't account for were if they'd get enough patrons to call it a success. But they had been spreading the word through word of mouth so, all they could do was hope for the best.]
[He doesn't doubt they'll do just fine. Between he and Kaeya they have amassed enough people who would be interested in being patrons, and the native people here are always eager to use refugee-run businesses. Diluc smiles and approaches Kaeya again, leaning down to give him a kiss and rubbing one of his ears again, though with no intention to draw him off his chair this time.]
Come on, you can help me get set up behind the bar. We still have work to do before we open, I want to make sure we have all the stock we need.

[He was more than just excited at the prospect of a more Mondstadtian bar, but that he was going to be running it with Diluc. It was... a bit more like home than he realized. But he could wax poetic about it later, he had some work to do.]
